imgIndian IT and ITeS sector has led the economic transformation of the country and altered the perception of India in the global economy. India's cost competitiveness in providing IT services continues to be the mainstay of its Unique Selling Proposition (USP) in the global sourcing market. India’s highly qualified talent pool of technical graduates is one of the largest in the world and is available at a cost saving of 60-70 per cent to source countries. As a result, it remained the world’s top IT sourcing destination in 2016-17 with a share of 55 per cent of US$178 billion of global sourcing market. Further, Indian IT companies have set up over 1,000 global delivery centers in over 200 cities around the world. Revenue of India’s IT industry reached US$ 154 billion and exports stood at US$ 117 billion in 2016-17. Indian IT exports are projected to grow at 7-8 per cent in 2017-18, in addition to adding 130,000-150,000 new jobs during the same period.
